Hello Dear Friends - Welcome to London

Glorious day one. Perfect sun shiney August London day. The greatness of Christopher Wren reaches towards the sky as the modern architectural marvel stay a little more grounded. First stop, Mansion House station and a swift walk to Vintner's House...

I promise you, I'm not working...

Grand time seeing everyone and meeting others. A lovely lunch from this side of the river to a local street market. Amazing aromas, delicious food and excellent hosting by Laura.

Laura is back to work and I'm on to art stop number one... Tate Modern. Amazing collection.

Kandinsky

Ellsworth Kelly

Cy Twombly

Surprise number one - I thought it was a study completed by Francis Bacon. It's actually a painting by Giacometti.

One of the Gerhard Richter paints that fills the wall. Amazing perspective that this photo provided is Harder too see standing under the huge scale.

Hip-hip Hoorah by Karl Appell.

Beautiful exhibit room at the Tate.

Then my phone battery dies...

Proper London day one ends with a few pints of Seafarer's and Strongbow at the nearby boozer and then a dash off for curry dinner.

Outside of the fresh orange [juice], British orange juice (that tastes distinctly different than its American cousin) consumed on the overnight flight over, I am well chuffed. Many thanks dear hosts. ☺

More tomorrow when we are out about town. We have Brixton and Camden in mind.
